...a bed and breakfast homestay in downtown
Indianapolis.
by Laura A. Arnold, Owner and Innkeeper
The Hoffman House is my home, a bed and breakfast homestay,
the warehouse for an on-line antiques business called AntiquesBill and the
headquarters for my governmental affairs consulting business named The Arnold
Group. More information
on our antiques for sale.

The Hoffman House is an American Four-square built in 1903 by Charles Hoffman.

the Chatham Arch Historic District.
When you arrive in downtown Indianapolis you won't be able to miss this two-toned
heather lavender painted house with cream trim and burgundy window sashes.
If you are lucky enough to visit us during the Hoosier growing season, you
will be greeted by a myriad of blooming plants such as the pink Dame's Rocket
in the foreground of this photo. The mauve-colored Victorian gazing balls
mounted on either side of the entrance to the porch add a whimsical touch.
If you park on the east side of the house on Park Avenue, you will see the
herb and vegetable garden including edible flowers used to garnish your breakfast.

Up the oak-paneled staircase to the second floor is
the Peach Room. The focal point of this peaches and cream colored room is
a carved fireplace mantel. A walnut Eastlake double bed and a trundle twin
bed provides ample sleeping arrangements for families and friends. A cherry
gooseneck rocker provides a comfy spot to read, reflect and relax.

and current room rates.
The Rose Room is furnished with an oak carved bedroom
suite including a wash stand. The walls are sponged in shades of rose petal
pink to match the quilt handmade by my Grandmother Arnold. A small desk and
chair provide a convenient work space or place to sip an afternoon cup of
tea and gaze at the backyard garden.
The Rose Room is currently undergoing some
redecorating so look for new photos of this guest room also.
Hoffman House guests enjoy a hearty full
breakfast
in the blue toile wallpapered dining room. Breakfast is composed of entries
such as French toast or fresh herb shirred eggs, fresh seasonal fruit (often
with edible flowers from the garden), breads or muffins, yogurt and cereal.
Coffee, tea and juice accompany breakfast. Breakfast is normally served at
8 a.m. on weekdays and at 9 a.m. on weekends; however, both breakfast times
and menus can be varied to accommodate guest schedules and tastes.
Sorry
but breakfast can only be served to overnight guests.
